Mandurah Masters Exceed Expectations
Mandurah Masters Swimming Mannas exceeded expectations once again! It was a very small contingent of only 9 swimmers that made their way to Challenge Stadium on Sunday morning to compete in the Stadium Snappers Live LLCC against twenty other Master's Swimming Clubs. Despite Mandurah's small number of swimmers available to compete on the day, they outdid themselves by placing very highly in each of their individual events and accumulated enough team points to place a most respectable 4th overall.
In individual achievements on the day there were 3 state records set with Mandurah breaking two of them! Pauline Wingate broke her own 80-84 age group state record in the 200m breaststroke and Kirk Bamford set a new 50m breaststroke state record in the 75-79 age group.
Mandurah Masters train at the MARC every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:00pm with aerobic swim time trials on Sunday mornings from 8:30am. As well, many of the club members dive in for ocean swims every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Doddi's Beach around 7:30am.
On Saturday, 30th October, 8:00am-9:00am, the public is invited to "Have A Go" session with our experienced ocean swimmers at Doddi's Beach followed by a BBQ breakie afterwards.
On Sunday, 31st October, 7:30am-9:30am, the public are invited to the MARC to join a pool training session followed by morning tea in the clubrooms. Just bring goggles, swim cap, sunscreen, water bottle and a smile (fins/flippers if you have them).
