2020 Christmas 10k & 1 Lap Cruiser Swim Results
A keen and well drilled team of 10 of Mandurah Masters' best participated in the 2020 WOW Christmas 10k or 1 Lap Cruiser Swims last Saturday at Coogee Beach. Spirits were high and conditions were near perfect, which resulted in some good times - both in the water and the Coogee Surf Club Cafe after the swim.
First off were the 10 km swimmers: Jack, Joel, Steve F and Wayne C. They were followed shortly thereafter by the 3.4 km team of Deborah B, Jane, Paul, Rhiannon, Ross and Sue Mac.
Despite a sore groin, he injured at training one week earlier, Club rocket and VP Joel was first out of the water in the 10 km swim and a very respectable 3rd in his age group. Joel came oh so close to breaking the 3 hour barrier. Next time Joel! Congratulations to Steve and Wayne for coming 1st and 2nd in their age group, we wont mention that a podium finish was guaranteed. Well done Jack for qualifying for his first Rottnest Channel Solo swim.
Rhiannon was first out of the water in the 3.4 km swim, closely followed by Ross. They both managed to break away from the peloton of Jane, Deb and Paul - who all finished within 37 secs of each other.
Thank you to MSWA for putting on another very well run and enjoyable event.
