2020 Lake Argyle Swim Entries Open Soon
There has been talk around the traps of a group of Mannas entering the Lake Argyle swim on 2nd May 2020. The plan would be to either: fly up and back; or drive straight up and maybe spending a few weeks camping together on the Gibb River Rd, Broome and Coral Bay on the way home.
Registrations for the 2020 Lake Argyle Swim open at 9:00am on Friday 1st November 2019. Entries will fill very quickly. Have your team ready and be online when registrations go live!
Registration places will be split between the 20km and 10km swim distances, and split further between the solo, duo and quad options.
The registration process will be easy, as the Team Captain’s details are needed initially. Once the team captain has paid and registered, your team’s place is assured and the organisers will collect the full team’s details in the lead-up to 2020.
If you are a 10km solo entrant, there is a ‘paddle support only’ category. This initiative is to encourage greater participation for visitors to ‘fly in’ with a mate, without the burden of boat transport. The organisers also get you and your paddler to the 10km start line.
All other teams/solos will need a paddler and powered boat support, as per previous years. In past events the organisers have had heroic support from local boat owners, kayak owners and paddlers. So if you have competed before, get back in touch with past team members and reform your ‘possie’.
