2019 Port to Pub Results
The 2019 Port to Pub was held on Saturday 16 March in fresh SSE to SW winds, which made the crossing quite challenging.
Congratulations to all our swimmers for finishing. Guy completed his first solo under trying conditions and still managed a impressive time. Erica and Steve backed up for a duo after completing solos 3 weeks earlier and won their category. Both our teams of 4 had fantastic swims, with: Daddlers Narelle, Colleen, Kerry and Natalie winning their category; and the Tri 2 Swim team of Ken, Cathy, Mari & Paul finishing with the biggest smiles of the day. Going under the radar in the lead up was Capt. Jen, who swam as part of a Team of 6 from the Port Bouvard Surf Club. Has anyone seen her thong?
See the summary of their results in the table below:
A special thank you to our team of Manna supporters who: got up at some ungodly hour to go the beach to see off our swimmers, caught a ferry to the island, went for a swim a pinkies, went to the bakery, went to the pub, cheered everyone as they arrived, before piling back on ferry for the long trip home. On behalf of all the swimmers - It is so good to see your friendly faces at the finish line!
On behalf of all the swimmers, a big thank you to the skippers, paddlers and crews who made our crossings possible. A crossing is a team achievement and would not be possible without your help: guiding and encouraging us in the water, keeping us warm, feeding us and attending to our every need.
What a great day and ideal way to wrap up the 2018/2019 Open Water Season!
