Sunday Morning Vorgee Endurance Swims
Vorgee Endurance 1000 swims are an excellent way to improve your fitness and endurance. The program is designed to encourage people to swim whatever stroke(s) they choose over 400 m, 800 m & 1500 m or for 30 min, 45 min & 60 min duration.
The Club has made Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 10.00 am the Vorgee Endurance 1000 program participation time and hired a dedicated lane each Sunday for this purpose. The cost of lane is covered by a $2 charge for those swimming timed swims.
Unfortunately, timed swims have not proven as popular as we hoped and the club has being paying for a lane that has not be used. To better manage the cost, swimmers planning on doing a timed swim should let Capt. Jen or Pres. Deb know in advance so we might book a lane.
Please bear in mind you also need volunteers to time the swims and a committee member or nominated person present to certify the correctness of the timing and verify the swim. The latter is necessary not only to comply with the Vorgee Rules, but also to ensure that any new club records set are swum in accordance with the same rules as club records set at swim meets.
