Endurance Swims on 1st Thursday of the Month
Currently, from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Sunday mornings, we have lanes booked and volunteers available to time any individual who like to swim a 400, 800 or 1500m swim (of any stroke) or to record the distance you can swim in 30, 45 or 60 minutes. You don't race anyone, but score points for each swim based on your age and ability. Together with points from your fellow club members participating, your points go toward a total for our Club. Swimming also puts you in the running for our annual Endurance Swim Award.
Endurance swims are a great way to maintain and measure your aerobic fitness, especially for all those Open Water Swimmers with not much to do over the winter.
The Club's Committee would like to encourage more members to have a go at Endurance Swims. Accordingly, in addition to Sunday mornings, starting on Thursday night 3rd of May (and the 1st Thursday of each month thereafter) one of our 3 training lanes will be allocated to timing anyone who would like to try an Endurance Swim. The remaining two lanes will be used for coaching as usual.
The Committee hopes this initiative will prove popular and rekindle interest in Endurance Swims.
See you at training!
