2017 Doddi's Dash - Form Guide Ver 3

With only four weeks to go before the 2017 Mandurah Masters Doddi's Dash on Sat 18 November, all the talk is about fascinators and outfits, and that's just the boys!

Entries continue to grow and tanking is rife. There is so much covert training happening, no one has the energy to go along on to training on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The pressure has got to a few of the runners and there has been some scratchings. Complaints about handicaps are getting monotonous, but the good news is there is still time to enter!

Your $10 entry fee goes to Peel Community Kitchen and entitles you to a free sausage sizzle, and chance to win the Fashion Parade and Golden Goggles Trophy.

The updated form guide sees some movement in the field. As usual, handicaps remain subject to market fluctuations.

Fashion Tip: Rainbow tootoos are so 2016!

2017 Doddi's Dash - Updated Handicaps and Form Guide Version 3

Track: Wet, Cold, Bumpy & Salty

1 Neil Aitken - 0:00 - 100-1

Definitely has been tanking, pace dramatically quicker when racing with stablemate Gerry.

2 Gerry Green - 0:00 - 100-1 Silver fox! Has been racing "unco" for the last year, getting back to into some good two arm form. May only be running on behalf of betting syndicate to pace stable mate Neil into the race

3 Michelle Marinovich - 2:00 - 100-1 Yet to race this season, but in good shape under new trainer. Recently, in the prize money at Royal Show, but not sure which event?

4 Jan Boddy - 2:15 - 100-1

Perky mare, injured in an off-track fall, but now definite starter. Track work improving, if swimming form is as good as dancing will be there abouts.

5 Mandy Kelly - 3:30 - 100-1

First run in this event. Lightly raced mare, part of the MB stables where she trains well, but may struggle on bumpy track

6 Ann Ferguson - 3:30 - 100-1

Raced well in Greece, despite not being seen at the training track. Well supported in the betting by grandchildren

7 Cathy Isbister - 3:40 - 100-1

Well trained and another from the BP stable that will attract money with this handicap

8 Sue McDonald - 4:35 - 100-1

Raced and danced well in Greece

9 Linda Ray - 5:10 - 100-1

Could be in the money, if prevented from pulling out part way

10 Greg Cockram - 5:30 - 100-1 Early morning track form has not gone unnoticed. Rumours are he is seeking out dodgy vet for some "special" assistance, will definitely be swabbed if in the money!

11 Jane Thomas - 5:40 - 100-1

Showing the benefit of new training regime, could be a smokey if not swimming backstroke.

12 Helen Cahill - 6:00 - 100-1

May race or May not race - depends on the day, did not remain on previous handicap for long given the improvement shown since last season and joining BP stables

13 Deb Bloor - 5:10 - 100-1

Odds on favourite for fashion prize, intense cross training regime is paying dividends

14 Pauline Wingate - 5:10 - 100-1

Champion mare, improving and moving up the field accordingly

15 Deb Brown - 6:10 - 100-1

Still in a spin after Greece carnival, where her form was better off track than on

16 David Ralph - 6:40 - 100-1

Starting show promise after putting in some solid swims on the course.

17 Paul Jacklin - 7:40 - 100-1

Secretly training 6 days a week, serious contender

18 Susan Giles - 7:45 -100-1

Raced lightly, distance will suit, recent form suggests she may need to see the whip to get her best

19 Jenny Crake - 7:55 - 100-1

Best dressed mare at recent Greek Carnival, high elbows make her difficult to pass

20 Wayne (Spud) Hurtado - 7:55 - 100-1

First run in this event. Untrained and badly behaved gelding, recently banned from racing in Greece, Spain, Ireland and UK.

21 Narelle Gillmore - 8:00 - 100-1

Well trained and behaved mare, darling of the MB and BP stables, Greece form would suggest she will feature

22 Kirk Bamford - 8:00 - 100-1

Has been racing and training at high altitude camps in Canada, connections plan to bring to Australia just before the race. Missing stablemate Jim!

23 Ken Isbister - 8:00 - 100-1

Another from the BP stable, recent track work has not escaped the eye of the handicapper, still a big chance

24 Trevor Atkinson - 8:15 - 100-1

Always last into the stalls, back from injury and well rested, one to watch if focused

25 Colleen Wray - 8:15 - 100-1

Racing in poka dots, after recent win. Penalised heavily after running 2nd last year, but this should not be a problem given recent form

26 Peter King - 8:30 - 100-1

Last year's winner, has bit between the teeth determined to start a picket fence

27 Jon Livingstone - 8:30 - 100-1

New to PK stables, propensity to swim upside down, but under new trainer should fly around the course

28 Wayne Cable - 9:10 - 100-1

Stayer, better over a longer distance, since started listening to trainer form improving but too much night racing may effect day time performance

29 Hazel Cockram - 9:20 - 100-1

Yet to capture last year's form, runs well on two legs. Handicappers nightmare

30 Ray Reynolds - 9:40 - 100-1

Fresh from racing over east, recent form showing promise, could be a dark horse

31 Steve Crake - 9:55 - 100-1

Recent form off the track excellent, where he has been leading from the front. On track form ho-hum! Novelty bet!

32 Glenda Hurtado - 10:15 - 100-1

Recent form shows improvement, but tanking by pretending she cant kick

33 Craig Stanford -11:00 - 100-1

First run in this event. Stablemate of Erica, young colt with impressive 1st up performances, no one believes talk of poor track form

34 Joel Lewis - 11:30 - 100-1

Did not race in winter carnival, recovering from fetlock injury, trying very hard to talk down chances, but is quietly confident given recent form

35 John Cahill - 11:55 - 100-1

Fresh back from racing in Ireland, possibly over-danced and under-trained

36 Jennifer Rollin-Busby - 12:20 - 100-1

Magnificent, mazing, miraculous, mischievous, magic, mercurial, merry, meteoric, motivated, mighty, mint mare!

37 Barb Pellick - 13:10 - 100-1

Spending more time in the vet surgery than on the track, not to be underestimated

38 Susan Johnston - 13:15 - 100-1

Has benefited from not racing overseas this year and having a full preparation, could feature.

39 Ingrid van der Wel - 15:05 - 100-1

Stablemate of Erica, capable of racing 4 wide and still being there at the finish. Favourite for fashion parade and dash double, but may get bored waiting to start.

Scratchings

Brett Johnston

Racing elsewhere, (probably, where oranges are accepted for bribes!)

Rod Baker

Scratched on veterinary advice

Mike Bennett

Focusing on short sprints and revenging recent losses

Erica Thomas

Not racing to concentrate on Fashion Parade
