Best Quiz Night Ever!

A very big thank you to all those Mannas and friends who answered the call and came along to enjoy what has been described by many as the "Best Quiz Night Ever!". What made the night even better was along the way we raised $910 for the Peel Community Kitchen. Well done everyone!

Glenda and Ken, as well as their team of helpers did another amazing job! Special thanks to: Greg, Deb, Sue and Paul for attracting so many sponsors to the event and the sponsors for their generous support; John and Ken for the questions; Coach John and Helen for music and table quiz questions, as well as selling the tickets; and Markers Deborah, Jen and John. However, the biggest thank you must go to Pres. Steve who garbed in a pale blue Safari suit took on the role of MC, in one of the toughest weeks the Club has seen, and absolutely nailed it!

On a night when too many Chook Raffles was never enough, we managed to fit in a few questions! I would be surprised if anyone went home without a prize. Pres. Steve kindly provided a hint to the answer of every question, if only we had paid attention!.

Other highlights include the competitions for the:

  • Best 70's Costume - Many had gone to a lot of effort, but congratulations Colleen who took 1st prize in a cheeky psychedelic poka dot number so short Deb was shocked!;

  • 70's Dance Off - The above video is evidence of the "high" standard of dancing on display. Well done Heather whose exuberant and somewhat athletic dancing style really stood out; and

  • Singing 6 lines of a 70"s song - Well done Erica C and Ann for their rousing rendition of that John Denver classic "Rocky Mountain High".

At the end of the night, it was Janet's crack team of Quiz Night aficionados who took out 1st prize.

The buzz around the traps is most who attended cant wait for the next Quiz Night, but maybe without questions and just costumes, dancing and singing!
