Wayne finalist in "Brownlow" for Volunteers!
The 2016 City of Mandurah Sports Award Presentation was held in the Platinum Room at Rushton Park last night. It was a star studded affair of the who's who of Mandurah Sport.
As Mandurah Masters members we can be very proud of our own Wayne Cable who was voted one of four finalists for Male Volunteer of the Year, as well as our club Mandurah Masters Swimming Inc, which was one of four finalists for the Club of the Year award. Unfortunately, neither took out the top award, but it was fantastic that they were nominated as a finalists.
The photos above show: President Steve and Wayne with their finalists' awards; Wayne with two other finalists; President Steve sharing his sense of humour with guest speaker Damien Martin from the Perth Wildcats; and a sometimes well behaved Mandurah Masters Table.
A special congratulations to fellow swimmer Rebekah Weller from Peel Aquatic who was awarded Sports Person of the Year for her outstanding open water swimming performances, under the guidance of Coach (and fellow Manna) Ryan Spencer.
Thank you to the City of Mandurah for organising such a great event.
Well done Wayne and well done us!
