Water warming up at Doddis!

Well, I didn’t say it was warm, only warming.

In the earlier part of winter, OWS pundits had suggested the sea temperature was 15°C or lower. Maybe it was time to conduct another test reading.

On Tuesday afternoon, armed with a floating pool thermometer on a fishing line, the thermometer was hurled out into the sea at the rock groin, allowed to float around, read it asap after drawing it back through the wash. The process repeated a few times. Reading was a smidgeon (a non-technical term for “a little bit”) under 16°C. The cold tap water at home read 18°C.

The message is - Come on down for a swim as it’s warming up at Doddis!
