1996-2020 Busselton Jetty Swim Times
Mandurah Masters members have a long tradition in completing or competing in the annual Busselton Jetty Swim. For example, two of the early participants are:
Barb Pellick, Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honouree and Club Legend, started back in 1996; and
Ray Reynolds, Club stalwart and all round nice guy, swan his first Busso in 2001.
For many of us, the annual pilgrimage to Busselton in February is the highlight of our open water swimming season and bloody good weekend spent with our Manna brothers and sisters. The importance of this event to members is in evidence each Saturday in the preceding months through the progressively increasing kilometers swum. Culminating in late January when confidence in completing the 3.6 km trip out and around the jetty is sky high.
We are very fortunate that President Deb has taken on the mammoth task of recording the swim time for each club member for every year they have swum, see below or Click Here to view a pdf copy. (if you spot an error or your name is missing please let us know.)
It makes somewhat nostalgic reading and has added an important page and colour to our Club History - thank you Deb!
